Have you seen "In the real world" from SGB? It's not quite what you ask for, but it is about senior management and court action following an accident. It's not as good as 'Cost of Accidents', imo, but it's better than most, and pretty cheap. It's an emotionally targeted one rather than a systematic factual educational one, so not appropriate if you're looking for systematic description of the processes.

Many Thanks, I've been in their site and asked for a copy of "in the real World" We have a DVD with two heart wrenching stories of accident outside work and the impact on their lives. It was free from Kellogs called "don't risk everthing for the sake of a minute" - Mike Ford. My boss got it at a conference this week in Blackpool. It's not bad but I know I also need something which will have a legal impact. HSE coming in, interview under PACE, police investigation. It's realy difficult to find something suitable.

I have used one called "One wrong move, a managers story" the story is based around a FLT accident as a result of the FLT being left unattended with the keys in, quite a simple story but the impact of the investigation and subsequent prosecution of the manager under section 37 certainly hits home. When I have shown the film the managers definitely pay attention. Ade

Hi Ade67, I am new to this forum, can you please tell me were you purchase the dvd "one wrong move a manager story from" I am continuously banging my head against a brick wall since our managers and FLT users are not removing keys from the FLT when not in use. Thanks in advance.

I think SGB produced it but no longer distribute it. Try here: http://www.cip-books.com...ails.aspx?productID=1945 If you haven't seen 'The Cost of Accidents' I'd actually recommend the twin-pack with that, because Cost of Accidents is the most useful H&S DVD I have seen - it makes its point, generally provoking a thoughtful response, and is free of gore. http://www.cip-books.com...ails.aspx?productID=1946 It is particularly relevant to my workplace (construction), but I think it would probably work in other sectors too, though probably less well.

Hi, Just watched "The cost of accidents" and "in the real world" by SGB/ Harsco. Both are good (and cheap - £44 including postage for both), they are both about 15 min long and definatly two of the best health and safety DVDs I have seen in a long time. They both kept my interest all the way through. The 'twist' in "the cost of accidents" did come as a bit of a surprise. There is nothing I could find on the market that compares. Reminds me of "qualified to manage" made in the 80s looking at the responsibility of each manager for safety

Forgot to mention that I bought it from Construction Industry Publications (CIP) 0870 0784400 or sales@cip-books.com

We use key pads that the drivers have to input a code to start the fork truck but you can get a simple swipe card system Might be worth looking into one of these
