Afternoon , Has anybody on the forums either gone through the process of having their CMIOSH recognised by the Safety Institute of Australia or know anyone who has so that I could pick their brains on the process . Any idea of the equivelant grade etc . Thanks in Advance , Phil.

Hi Phil, It's only my opinion... I wouldn't bother. I've never seen a OHS vacancy in Australia requiring any professional membership or certification with the SIA. I'm in WA and they seem to be taking almost anyone as safety advisers in the resource sector. Not exactly the answer to the question you asked... Andrew

We had an ausssie "Gobal HSE Manager "foisted upon us some time ago. He had a NEBOSH International Certificate". Knew nothing about UK law or working practices. Absolutely useless. I complained to HQ in Germany and made it clear that it was he or me that went. He went packing and then claimed racial descrimination. Jon

Phil, Contact Hazel Harvey in HQ. She will be able to guide you or refer you to someone who can answer your query. If you haven't her email, pm me and I'll be happy to forward it on for you. Regards, Ciaran
