I am trying to calculate the exposure limit of a piece of kit using the HSE calculator, I have got a chart with the vibration level on it from the manufacturer but it gives two values dx and sx (e.g. sx = 6.5, dx=5.5) and I don't seem to be able to find out which figure I need to use. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, many thanks

LindyB Go back to the manufacturer and ask them to qualify the two values. If they are unable to then use the higher level. Have you tried to use other sources of information data bases for the levels.

I may be being thicker than a whale omlette, but could dx and sx refer to the model number? E.g. Hilti 900 dx If so, just look on the side of the tool? Or if it refers to a difference in accessory use, maybe dx is a cutting disc and sx a sanding disc this info maybe in the user manual? Apologies if that is no help, if so, just follow stevel's advice above Des
