This is a bit of a long shot, but might be worth posting to examine the potential for an idea.

Within my place of work we arrange, usually on an annual basis, a "seminar" for our H&S champions who are active on the shop floor. These are not trained to a NEBOSH standard, they are general staff members, from a range of experiences and backgrounds, who have an interest in safety and who undertake local initiatives on behalf of the safety team; for example, they undertake induction training, perform basic workplace inspections, get involved in risk assessment and accident investigation etc etc. We provide them with basic internally delivered training to perform these tasks and very much value what they do.

The "seminar" is intended to perform two things, it gives them a nice day away from the workplace with a chance to network etc and it allows us (the safety team) to brief them on new developments and "top up" their understanding of key issues.

Next year, we'd like to do something different and would love the opportunity to take these people (up to 40) into a completely different workplace (factory, distribution centre, major leisure faciltiy etc) for a tour by that organisations H&S people, examining what they do well, how they control risks from particular activities such as working at height etc where perhaps they have a particular specialism.

We're looking for about 2 to 2.5 hours at a location, possibly splitting the group into two to make it manageable with one half in a conference room where we can do our briefing bit and then swapping over.

Is anybody interested in helping us out? Would have to be something fairly large and interesting to hold their imagination, we're a higher education establishment by the way, so the more distant from this environment the better.
