I caught her show 'Help my house is falling down' last night. Sara has done an awful lot of good with her TV shows and I really do think she’s dam good most of the time. However, a number of things were evident on last nights show. A chap shown to be hitting the chisel end of a spike/chisel leaver with a lump hammer as be beat it into the ground. The chap in question was, of course, not wearing eye protection and the tool hardly fit for purpose. After removing a retaining was that was allegedly under pressure from an encroaching 5ft high garden, moving toward the home, people were then standing next to the unsupported bank of soil (vertical) Now my favourite bit, electrical! Our Sara was encouraging the owner, a lovely woman in her own right, to install the wiring of the property, saying that an electrician is only needed to connect up. Not a mention of the wiring regulations, electricity at work act or Part P etc. I don’t know of any good electrician who would even consider such work. Who in their right mind would sign off something like this? Electrical wiring put in be a person who has not the faintest idea of what’s involved bar a book from the library is not a good plan! Has the lady left cables resting over hot pipes under the floorboards? Is the wiring installed in ‘safe zones’? Has the wiring under the ground floor void been clipped or left hanging or resting on the concrete base? I could go on and on here but in the interest of good taste will stop at this point. I have not, or in all probability, will never meet the lovely Sara but her HAS and program boys had better get a grip before someone gets hurt and says…’it’s OK we say in on the Sara Beeny show so it must be fine’!

I am frequently exasperated by the poor H & S standards shown on the various property shows.

Not very professional I know, but when Sarah Beeney is on-screen, I don't see anything else ;-)

I wouldn't watch such programs of course but I did happen to be in the room whilst my partner was watching it last night ;-) I surprised you failed to mention that the 360 that was demolishing the retaining wall was sat on top of the garden being retained (or not)!

Like I said little Smurf type Blue person, I left quite a bit out (I like our Sara and didn't want to kick her too hard). I wonder if an asbestos test was carried out? and as for a preg... Zimmy :-)

Zimmy the sinless' picks up a large rock and throws it into the centre of the room The program should be researched and checked before going on air. Maybe they need to hire one of us? Sara, if you read this, I'll work for you! That is what those people get paid for. . We all make the odd cock-up but...It's not a mistake until it leaves the office! People tend to believe the video rather than the spoken word. Zimmy :-)

In Zimmy's defence before he gets modified into the ether, A 'Cock-up' refers to a particular flight on the shaft of an arrow and is in no way naughty. (if the cock flight is in the upright position, the arrow will go off course) (not relevent to modern arrows).
