Can somebody please tell me what the proper name is of the machine that measures slip resistance on surfaces. Even better can somebody point me towards a supplier,

I take it they will be added costs for callibration as well?

The surtronic comes with a self-calibration precision plate (of known surface roughness). Also a precision item and needs proper care and storage, and the meter device is calibrated using that plate (everytime you use it).
As you surmise though, there's a 12 month recommended factory calibration over and above that for the precision plate itself.
