Can members recommend sites that could provide royalty free video, audio and PowerPoint materials relating to H&S issues please?

Max I have not checked the validity of what I am about to suggest but it came from a source which I have found to be reliable. Utube has a wealth of clips some from big organisations such as Canada government safety campaign, London underground etc. If you run these direct from Utube (i.e. do not use one of the computer programmes available to copy the clip direct to your pc/presentation) you are not in breach of copy right. I say again I cannot say 100% that this is true but my source is usually very good on these issues. Brian

...and what have you got against the Royal family? They are probably good advocates of H&S....

For photographs etc try www.safetyphoto.co.uk, other royalty free images can be obtained through getty images and deviantart (google them) although I am unusure you will get exactly what you want. www.hsfb.co.uk containes (or did) some powerpoints shared by people etc, HSE website has some videos i.e. stress, working at height, asbestos. Other videos can be used from sources (double check this as well to be sure) such as youtube so long as you reference the material source as this is the public domain. Failing that if you can locate the source/producer of the video you can ask for permission to show. I used a clip once and the video producer confirmed I was allowed to show it in writing (it was about a 30 second snapshot from over an hours footage), the one condition was to reference again the source. Plenty of other websites that will download youtube videos as well to your desktop. And a key element when sharing this type of information with fellow colleagues (networkign great source for information) is to have a anti virus program in use. Additionally ensure any material given to you is not infringing copyrights.
