Hi everyone,

Can you help me out, I need to undertake a risk assessment on a machine, I've been advised in the past that there is a different risk assessment for a machine than the general risk assessment.

Is there a standard template I can use?

A useful starting point for Machinery Regs/Directive issues.

If you mean risk assessment w.r.t. PUWER, then be aware that L22 states “there is no specific regulation requiring a risk assessment in PUWER”.

If you PM me on the type of machine you require assessing I can perhaps help with what we use for our machinery.

U are required to RA [MHSW] and to have a safe system of work in place [HSWA] irrespective of PUWER so risk assess using initially the PUWER regs and associated ACOP along with macinery BSEN areas as your guide

Come from the safety etc of the machine angle along with the person undertaking the work and the work activity itself as 3 bundles that are then combined
