Hi everyone This is my first post on the forum and its great to find people in a similar situation as myself. I left the Army in May this year after 24 years, I have had a lot to do with H&S within the Army so thought I would get qualified (Cert level so far) before I left, I have also managed to gain TechIOSH with the courses and experience I had, however like a lot of people on the forum I am not getting any response from a lot of the recruiting agencies. I have a couple of CV's that I send out but not quite sure if they are hitting the mark! If there is anyone out there with some experience who could offer advice I would be most grateful.

Hi Mark there was an article on CV and job hunting in the SHP May 2011 that had some good tips in it, if you have not read it may help. Also ask a couple of the H&S recruitment agencies there thoughts on your CV, a lot tend to reformat it etc for thier use anyway.
However happy to help if you PM me - experience of military environments (HSE wise), education, waste management, construction, property maintenance, leisure industry and a few more.

Hi Mark,
3 years ago I left the RAF after serving 23 years. I left on a Friday and started a new role as a H&S Advisor on Monday. My only regret was that I didn't take a week off first! I'm based in Merseyside too but have a national remit. Now the H&S Manager, I am also involved in the recruitment process for new safety advisors so I would be happy to look at your CV. Please PM me. Regards, Roy.
