Not specifically health and Safety but certainly related...........

Scenario is that of a landowner organising shooting parties on his land. He has converted a trailer by installing benches and uses this, towed behind a tractor, to transport the shooting party from A to B. His understanding is that he is entitled to do this, including on public roads so long s it is being towed by a tractor. However,he has been led to believe that if he chooses to use a 4 x 4 vehicle instead of a tractor, that he would be committing an offence if he took the trailer on to a public road.Any comments from the legal eagles amonst you?

We are also looking at the potential insurance aspects of this.

Ta.

If you or the shoot owners are members of the BASC their legal team will assist/advise. Their insurance may cover you as well.

PUWER would apply if in a work situation but I would consult the Construction and use Regulations. I think there is also an HSE information sheet, ( number 36 I think).

PUWER would not apply unless in a work situation. I would consult the Construction and Use Regulations and the HSE information sheet (number 36 I think).

I suspect the insurance company that insures the 4x4 would also have something to say on this subject ;)
