Hi, i am currently revising our Contractor policies and procedures. please can anyone tell me whether or not the role of 'Clients Agent; is still valid, and what are the duties of this role if it still exists, i have had conflicting information and would be really gratefull if soemone could confirm Many thanks

I advise that you get competent support before you revise any CDM documentation as any revisions fall back onto your shoulders

L144 CDM 2007 Approved Code of Practice available as free pdf from HSE website. 2007 revision of the Regs revoked the concept. Your review process is somewhat flawed if you've been running with this concept for the last 4+ years!

Hi Carol, the direct answer to your question is no. The CDM 2007 regulations did away with the Client's Agent role. One of the other changes that were brought in, is that the role of Planning Supervisor was replaced with that of CDM Co-ordinator (a role with a wider remit). Hope that helps. John

All we respondents have of course fallen into the trap of presuming your Contractors, Procedures and terminology relate to Construction Work. You are talking about Construction Work I take it?

Hi Yes, this is question was in relation to construction. Thanks for your replies, that was my interpretation that the role does no longer exist
