Hello.
Storyboard
The company I work for is about to relocate about 15 to 20 employees to another office in another building that belongs to another company due to forthcoming expansion work in current location.
Their new location will be all on one floor, approx 100 meters from current office.
Identified relocated Office is new ish (under 7 years) and all employees will be on one floor with no other company being part of that floor.
Employees will be desk / computer point based and will not be working outside nor will be handling / working with Plant.
Enough First aiders and Fire wardens will be available for the two locations once people have moved.
Occupational nurse will carry out DSE /workstation assessments as and when required.
Question
I propose to carry out a risk assessment of their new premises prior to the relocation and I would also like to ask the new location's H & S representative some H & S questions.
I will compile these questions in written format. I have in my mind
Fire / procedures / evacuation drills/ routes / records / assembly points etc
First Aid Facilities
Welfare Facilities
Noise
Coshh
Lighting
Security
Control of Personnel entering / leaving
Car Parking Policy
Pat Testing
Fixed Wiring
Does anyone have any more points that I am missing that you would ask.
What about legionella ? if so what would I ask / look for.
Thanks in Advance
TD

As to legionella, ask them evidence that it is being managed by their FM contractor. You could also ask about asbestos if you are thinking of drilling into walls for adding extra services (IT and the like).
I’d also try to set up regular updates with the hosts' H&S person. Good comms is important in this situation and you need to create a feel of “us” as oppose to “us and them”. This can be difficult – we have had similar moves recently and getting the ‘hosts’ to work with the newcomers does not always work. We have even had our people excluded from fire drills!
