Is there any legislation or case law to say that they cannot be held in one central location if a company has various sites?

But surely it would be more convenient, if nothing else, for there to be a means of recording the required details at each location? Or is that the intention; to make it difficult for people to make reports?

There is an accident book at each location, its where the completed (data protected) sheets are stored I was asking about!

No they can be kept at one location, we have 6 sites and all completed reports come back to myself, within 24hrs, at the main site where I keep on file for the required amount of time. This also ensures that those that require investigation or reporting under RIDDOR are delat with in a timely manner. Hope this response helps

I agree, you can keep them whereever you like. The requirement is to keep them or 3 years.
