Hi All.

I am just in the process of doing the IEMA associate course- due to finish in December.

After that I am considering the NEBOSH Env Dip.

Has anyone any experience of this route? Would the NEBOSH be worth it?

I have experience with 14k in my last post and have just passed the Lead auditor course (80%)- which I'm chuffed about.

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

To be honest the Nebosh Env Dip hasn't helped me out much. I did the IEMA Cert 3 years ago and the Dip last year. No-one seems to ask for it as a required qual for any jobs I've looked at.

On the other hand it has proved very useful as meeting the academic requirements for a couple of MSc courses I've looked at, as it is a degree level qualification and I don't have a degree.

If I was in your shoes I'd use the money on an MSc or Post Grad Dip (If you have a degree that is)

All the best

William

Thanks William.

Food for thought indeed. As all of this is self funded, I don't want to splash out.

Hi Andy

I like your username by the way. :)

I did the SHEM course through Nottingham Trent Uni, which covered Environmental. I checked with IEMA yesterday, and can join them as an Associate as that part of my course is at Post Grad level (level 7).

I think a lot of employers are expecting people to have an Environmental qualification, or would want you to do one in the future, so I'm not convinced it's a waste of time.

Andy,

I completed the IEMA associate course and then undertook the Nebosh Env Dip.

I did not think the Nebosh Env Dip was as worthwhile an experience as the Nebosh H&S Dip but it can be used as a stepping stone towards a PG Dip. I completed the PGDip from De Montfort University and gained exemption from a complete module.

This process ensures that you gain an additional qualification at each step.

Motorhead - I think the 2 quals are at the same level - you may be duplicating - worth checking before you part with the cash?
