What is the legal requirement with regards to a declaration of comformity and a proof load test certificate for an item of lifting.
If a proof load cert has been lost will the item of lifting equipment have to undergo another proof load test?

A declaration of conformity is nothing more than a claim by the manufacturer that the equipment is safe. it's for the user to carry out their own checks as to whether the item is safe for use.
With the proof load test being lost how could you prove that the lifting equipment was being used within it's safe load? Thorough examination for lifting equipment (goods) is 12 monthly and 6 monthly for accessories.

If the item was certified by someone else, can’t you ask for a copy? I’m certain whoever did it would keep a copy for their own records.
