Many Principal / Main contractors require personnel working on their sites to have a CSCS card. I have just been browsing over the site and noticed that IOSH offer a version of the Safety Passport which I think would be the equivalent of a CSCS card, JIB Card etc.
How widely recognised in the building industry is the IOSH Safety Passport?

I have never been presented with the IOSH version on site but our company policy - derived I think from UKCG guidance but I'm willing to be corrected - would require CSCS if there is an appropriate category within the CSCS/CPCS cards.
My view is that we would not recognise that card on our sites.

Whilst auditing sites I too have never come across these IOSH passports. I do think that the majority use the CSCS cards (as I do)

This would not allow you to work on UKCG site as all of the companies in this require CPCS or CSCS cards.

IOSH's Working Safely course follows the HSE specified syllabus for a 'passport' scheme: http://www.iosh.co.uk/tr...yees/working_safely.aspxOne can received either a certificate or a photo card upon successful completion of the programme, which is generally run as a one-day course.
