Maybe he was just so full of gold that he thought others might benefit; either that or he would be making a quick trip to the smelting pot?

And he was a man of "..considerable intellectual ability"!!!!!? I might just try it myself, just in case he made a slight wrong move somewhere along the line and was on the verge of success!

That is hilarious. Considerable intellectual ability??? How comes he hasn't heard of the scientific rule that 'where's there's much there's brass' (not gold!!)
