More often than not, it is more to do with people not wanting to take the work on. It is harder to say no to the exemption than to say yes. It is time consuming to help a driver ... etc.,

neilrimmer - I think that one refers to another posting on the board relating to the use of Banksmen.
That one, coupled with another 2 subjects have led to Claire's apparent loss of will........and it's only Monday.

Spot on Tabs. People more concerned with getting out of doing work or worried about the "no win, no fee" claim coming their way.
Claire is feel your apathy. Come on chin up though, nobody said it was going to be easy.

Oh come on Claire, where else are people and going to try and make themselves sound clever, give advise which the poster didn't want and didn't ask for, copy and paste from some regulation, or say 'Do a Risk Assessment' when the poster is asking for information required to do the risk assessment!
These people need to have some forum if only to protect the poor people they work with from beating them to death with a COSHH Manual for Tipex....

Bearing in mind your various contributions to this forum, it just seems like you're having a bad day - as most of us probably do from time to time. Chin up, nil desperandum and all that. Among other things surely one of the functions of the forum is for posters and responders to let off steam about "elf n safety" nonsense.

Totally and utterly agree.....top post of the day.
Ive just had a rejection letter for my documentation for a vendor saying it was "substandard" or "missing"...the COSHH assessment people from previous posts.......they then state there is a consultant that can help with the vendor submission process. I rang this person up for "help" and when I stated my qualification and experience and what I had submitted he went rather coy and admitted the company in question were being "bloody minded"
I am going to write to the MD of this said company and explain to him why my work is not "substandard" with all my documentation included. This person could cost me my job!

Frankly I think you are a bunch of grumpy old gits who will all be out of work when the government streamlines its approach to health and safety.
Mr.Flibble - could you send me a copy of that Tippex Manual when you have a moment.

I can't resist a poke...you are only in a job because of the RRFSO - so don't knock it!

Ray you can say some harsh things when you are angry. But, you are right. Loo at the place Martin is posting from. Most people down that neck of the woods are Tory supporters anyway so whatever the truth of the matter it will not change thier views. Whewn the Government started the isuue of reducing H&S law I took the trouble of reading all the bits of legislation listed for consideration, and yes some could do with consolidating into less words, but the need is still there in the vast majority of cases so perhasps they will roll it into one or two major sets of regulations under a new guise but the majority of it will still be in place. Perhaps they will do away with the RRFSO so put Martin out of work!
