What are the legal requirements for the provision of first aid kits and fire extinguishers to home workers both full and part time? If there is a specific legal requirement can you pointy me in the right direction.

John,

Im sure this has been discussed before, and very likely at length. Both are uneccesary based on the risk level, but Im sure many will disagree.

As always the devil is in the detail. You don't say what sort of work they are doing, and it is of course difficult to give a reasoned response without that. Anything else is going to be little more than a stab in the dark.

If they are at home soldering circuit boards all day then 'yes' I would suggest that both would be identified as being both sensible and proportionate.

If on the other hand they are doing desk based/VDU work, then I would have thought not.

Could you elaborate?
