Does anyone know who sells ladies sized hard hats in the UK? I had one years ago from Arco and now they are looking at me as if I'm mad.
Cheers

Thought they all came with and adjustable band, if that doesn't work you can always try the Early Learning Centre for a Bob the builder one.....

We've never had anyone complaining that the hard-hats don't adjust small enough - and we've got one very petite female member of staff who is a right pain with respect to every other piece of PPE (small enough jacket, small enough boots, small enough gloves).

The problem is not with the size of the band its the physical size of the plastic shell. Because they are huge the ear defenders come down the side of my head too much and there's a gab between my jaw and the bottom of the ear defender. Hope that makes sense.
It was a question for help and advice not a complaint and I'm aware of the requirements of the PPE Regs for employers to ensure PPE fits the wearer. If females ask for PPE that fits them I can't see a problem with that by the way and its not really fair to say they are being pains. That comes across as a bit rude to be honest, you should be grateful they want to wear the stuff.

I'm not sure if you mean a gap in that the ear defender cups are not pressed against the side of your head or a gap in the sense of they are in the wrong position vertically.
Anyway, in either event, have you tried the approach of defenders with a neck-band rather than helmet mount? I probably prefer helmet mount myself, I admit, but if the problem is the size of the actual hard shell I suspect you're going to struggle to find a helmet that works.
We normally solve helmet - hearing protection issues by using earplugs, but I personally don't like ear plugs (and my GP has told me I must not use ear-plugs due to existing ear canal damage, but I've already got hearing damage so do use them sometimes).

Sorry if my removed reply offended anyone, the op query was answered so I thought I would post it-obviously it was very tongue in cheek.
If the query hadn't have been answered I would not have posted.
Is ice good for a slapped wrist!

BS EN 397 (The Hard Hat Standard) references three different "headforms" (D, G & K) from EN 960 (I don't have access to a copy of EN 960 - maybe someone else can expand).
It may be fair to say then that not all hard hats are the same and you may wish to make enquiry with other suppliers.
There is no gender demarcation within BS EN 397.
With reference to other posts here about suppliers of EN compliant children's size hats, presumably at least one of the referenced headforms relates to that.

http://www.centurionsafe...eHelmetand1125Helmet.php
Claims that the Centurion 1125 is available in a smaller size, though I can't find details anywhere else on their web site.
