Can a mobile crane be used for moving/ shifting loads for short distances?

Is there any such references where it is mentioned that crane can be used without the outriggers (for moving loads)?

I have seen a few fabrication yards using mobile crane for shifting pipe sections and steel plates etc?

Will there be a mention of SWL for moving loads in the load chart of the crane??

Regards,
Prads

Prads,

A mobile crane may have many duty conditions, static free on wheels, half blocked, fully blocked or possibly pick and carry as you are enquiring about which may restrict boom orientation whilst moving.

Load charts should be available for each condition, if in doubt contact the manufacturer.

Only certain types of crane/kit are specifically designed to raise a load and then move it via its [the cranes etc.] wheels/tracks. Most lifting kit is designed to lift etc from a static position

Your responsible person should be able to answer any such questions
