A colleague of mine has just asked if whether or not I am able to certify some storage racks for his business, however, I have advised him that it should be the responsibility of the manufacturer/erector to do this. Does anyone know the stance on this?

Your friend should have information from the manufacture for this on SWL however if this is not available now he will have to get a structural engineer in to calculate the design load of these once done this will act as SWL for him the person doing this must be competant in this
