The asbestos article is further down the page, the link is OK. What a terribly unfortunate choice of words: "Canada is breathing new life into its asbestos mining industry..."

Just to add to Ron's response, the title of the Aussie documentary is "India - Toxic trade" Click on the title for a new page with a summary of the programme and also a useful transcript of what is said. There's also a link to the programme which is listed as lasting 26:50 mins. From a quick skim through the programme it looks both interesting and alarming, and includes clips of corrugated asbestos sheeting being made. Also, some forum users trying to access the quoted webpage at work may not be able to do so if their employers have blocked access to certain types of website. Mine blocks all access to "social" websites like Facebook and Twitter (no problem in my case because I've never felt any need to use them), and also YouTube, but evidently not the website quoted.

Shocking is an understatement. Canada should be ashamed.

It is appalling , however Canada has been exporting uranium to India for years , Australia has also agreed to export uranium after the recent CHOGM and and Obama visits to Aus . I understand that it is not illegal to use uranium in developed countries but it has the same potential for health effects as asbestos in an under developed country such as India. As one of the worlds biggest and fastest growing economies , it is amazing to think that India has not learned the lessons of other developed countries as regards asbestos and radioactive material. Begs the question , At what point does the World Health Organisation etc get involved in international trade restrictions in goods which have the potential to decimate a population ? They can restrict trades of meat and vegetables etc between countries but not Asbestos ???? Wealth over health I believe .
