I want to do my diploma, work have agreed but I will have to take the NVQ route, I spend most of the year off-shore and I was wondering best course providers. I have never done a NVQ before. All advice welcome.

I have used the Business Safety Systems for my NVQ 4 and I am now doing the 5. It is all completed on line so no photocopying or hard copies to collect. I found them very good. I do not work with or have any other association with the company only I have used them

Newtod, Try SHEilds in Humberside, I completed mine offshore with them. Good service and support.

Thanks for that, all online seems ok, working six weeks on and six weeks limits me with any block releases for the normal diploma. Will look into both companies. thanks again.

Newtod: Again Sheilds for my NVQ4 was a perfect set up. I, like you, work 6/6 so found that both on and off shift I could manage the course easily. Once you get set up and rolling, and if the course is not above your station, I would estimate you will be done within 3 - 4 month

Newtod I am not saying there is anything wrong with the NVQ but it is not the diploma, These are 2 different qualifications that are seen to have the same "value" you need to be clear in your own mind what you are wanting to achieve. A number or organisations will offer the Diploma by Distance Learning, others will offer the NVQ. I too hold a qualification seen as equivalent to the diploma a PGc done by distance learning, which may be a 3rd option you want to consider.
