Iv'e just scanned the news and a big story is that tragically a crew member on a film set (GI Jo) has been killed in an accident, it happened in the States. It's only newsworthy because of the location and its gone global. I sympathise with the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased, but it makes me mad that so much attention has been generated because of the location rather than the real issue. The story made me sit down and think about the media in the UK. If the UK media reported work related accidents on a regular basis (Maybe with the exception of the Daily Mail who seem to think Health & Safety is a source of amusement) we could contribute to a safer workplace for all.

The media regularly report work related deaths, as evidenced by the recent tragedies in the mines
