Hi Guys

Do you have to be in a safety related employment before you can take the NVQ level 5?

Great Question, one I posed some weeks ago to a training organisation.

The truthful answer is that you wont be able to provide the evidence.

Their answer was, "I am sure we can get round that, a consultant will call you later"

Still waiting

Kofi17. I am currently undertaking the Diploma 5. I can confirm what Tony says; the evidence is almost all evidence based from my day to day role in H&S. I do not believe it would be possible to complete this diploma without being in a current H&S role. If you have recently left such a role, and still have access to documentation you may be able to do some of the work required but all evidence supplied has to have been undertaken within 24 months of the finish date of the course.

Even if you are in a full time H&S job it can be difficult to amass the evidence if you are part of a large team.

Hi

Have a look at the standards and see what you can gather from past employment. Then have a look at your gaps. Your training provider may be able to suggest somewhere you can volunteer to fill the gaps.

If you want the workbook, give me a shout (PM) and I can send it over, for you to benchmark yourself.

Regards

Linda
