Hi all
I do a lot of abroad and must companies/clients are working to 18001, 9001 and 14001.

What I would like to know if I think I have issues on the standard of HSE on a project who can contact to enforce safety on the company.

I just think that we should have set standard a specially when I am talking about Oil and Gas companies that are worth billions. I have seen different projects some very professional, other ones not quite managing with the scope of the project and others that don't even try.

You find offshore the standard is always high, because you have governing body controlling it. so why is different on land, on these high risk activities.
Well this what it looks like to me, not 100 % sure if their is governing body but not as strict etc

Check your brief/contract, who you are reporting to why and in what form : oral or written. That will tell you who to report problems to and from whom you ask advice on going further if and as required.

Before going to any "official" body make very very sure of your facts and motive. You, too, can be sued.

I am more talking about have stronger control on projects across the world.

So we have similar health and safety all over the world ( for large corporate companies in high risk projects).

In UK you can phone HSE for advice we have set regulations I for one cant remember all regs and laws etc.

It would also help client when setting up in new foreign countries what is the basic requirement in each country etc.

U can no longer phone the HSE in the UK - even the old hands with individual HSE phone numbers are having problems!
