help i have joined a large bakery which is is using bakery gloves to remove hot baking trays. They are of chinese manufacture and not CE marked so i need to replace with a BS version. can anyone suggest a suitable glove manufacturer please? i have tried gloves out of safety shop and cromwells but they either don't provide the correcct grip we need or they do not last with the heat factor (230 c) many thanks for any suggestions

There are some good heat-resistant gloves out there at reasonable price (e.g. "fireblade" from ARCO (other brands and suppliers may be available). The down-side I believe is, just like oven gloves/mitts we'd buy from a retailer, they're useless if you get them wet! (Been there with the "wet oven mitt"- ouch!!!!)

Doa search for "Pyrotex" oven gloves - I believe these waterproof as well - not too sure if they are CE though!

In our industrial bakeries we use gloves from arco but I believe marigold and bennetts also supply them. You'll need BS EN 407 performance level 2 for up to 250 degrees for a bakery. BR Ian
