Hi, I am wondering whether any member has had experience with a similar situation. My problem is:

Installing Hanson Jet Floor I.E. prestressed concrete beam with polystyrene infill blocks.
The problem arises where the topography of the ground leaves the void under the floor at a height of 2m approx. If we were to install passive safety measures ;air bags, bird cage scaffold we would not be able to remove them. Similarly we still need to membrane and concrete over the top of the floor.
My suggestion thus far has been the construction of scaffold to the outside a movable work platform to span the void with guardrails attached. This enable operatives to have a safe platform to work from for all activities.
can anyone foresee problems? Alternatives?
many thanks

Hello Martin, sounds like a plan, other alternatives are backfilling with recycled aggregate? or have you considered a neat product that is designed for short-duration fragile roof work, I found it recently, called a Valley Walk. There are a couple of varients on the market but this one would be the one I would choose. http://www.easi-dec.com/products/valley-walk.php
You can clip to it with a restraint lanyard and two workers can work from one frame with the sides being adjustable from flat to vertical and all at 24kgs. I have tried them out and nice bit of kit. Its in a couple of hire fleets (not in huge numbers) as per:

Might be worth having a look.
