Hi all
During the recent windy weather, our emergency exit doors were blown open and caused damage to the closure unit and 'push bar'. Do these have to be repaired by a specialist contractor or would a normal joiner be able to repair. The double doors are UPVC I think.
We are based in Doncaster if anyone knows of a reputable repairer nearby.

A good handyman could do the job as long as he/she is experienced with UPVC and you are happy with the work.
My concern is how are you securing the doors at present if the push bar is damaged?
Please ensure the fire exit is available for use at all times persons are in the premises, that means not locked!
Why were they blown open? Was it because they were not properly secured?

I have never heard that a specialist had to undertake repairs as the fitting of them are pretty simple if they are fixed to the face of the door. Obviously make sure it is in good working order before they leave and you pay.
Phone a local PVC Company or Joiner - that is what I would do

The doors are locked/secured at night before we leave.
The door is availdable to use during the day, the snib of push bar just catches, so no issue here, there is also another exit available for staff at front of the building.
They were blown open due to closure arm being broken.
