I have just found out that next week the company I work for is running a charity 'Olympic Event'. All I have been told is that there will be an arm wrestling event and others event involving strength. The person on the other end of the phone couldn't give me any further information. What levels do people think I should go to for this? Thanks in advance.

where is this event going to be held, inside the company premises or outside in a pub or similar premises? If in a pub it is not the companies responsibility but someone should check that there is nothing dangerous about any of the events. Those who are to take part do so at thier own risk.

I would prefer to not be informed with this type of event and let them get on with it. After all, if it is people doing it of their own volition - that's their choice. If you intervene as a h&s person you are likely to be labelled a party-pooper, in this game it's often a case of damned if you do...
