My cmpany needs to carry out some Confined Space work for a major Water company. They are insisting that we train through 'City & Guilds' certification.
We have used a registered local company for many years with the type of certification that holds fast with many large construction companies. Has anyone heard of, or come across such a request.
I have nothing against C&G certs, but we try to support our local establishment through other kinds of training needs and would like to stay with them for this one.
Any thoughts?

I know a previous supplier of CS training - I don't use them now because of geographical issues (I've changed job and relocated) - used to run 'generic' training and they also used to run courses leading to come C&G qualification or another.
They were/are based in Warrington and can surely be found via Google or some other preferred search engine if the right terms are input. They did/do a lot of courses for utilities companies so would be a good place to start.

We use Mines Recsue for our CS training, quick search on Google will find them and I think the courses that they run are C&G.

Mike beat me to it -I used Mines Rescue for some consultancy- they were excellent. If I were looking for a trainer or for advice thats where I would go.

Artist 1,
Peter Gotch has got the right document for you, if its a Water UK Company (Basically any water, waste water Co) then they are required by Water UK to have their City and Guilds Confined space ticket (there are 2 C&G tickets Water and Non Water (Const)). The one you will need is the 6150 01 for low risk, 02 for medium risk and 03 for high risk entry.
If you do need any further advice let me know
