We are just about to purchase a number of new (2009) Health and Safety Law posters and I am debating whether it is worth waiting to see if the HSE are going to publish a new one to reflect the fact that in October 2011 the HSE Infoline was disbanded, and the 2009 poster still mentions it. I know that we can still buy and display the 2009 posters even though they still mention the Infoline, but for appearance sake I don't really want to cover the number over with stickers, not after spending a couple of hundred pounds on buying new ones. Does anyone know whether the HSE are due to update the 2009 poster any time soon? Steve.

Not sure, I'm waiting until next years budget for bulk purchase so still plenty of time to hold off until (if) they decide to change the format at all.

For what it is worth You can still continue to display the former one untill 05 April 2014 as long as they are readable and contain up-to-date contact details. Source HSE Pamflet "The New Poster form HSE" We've made it easier for you to comply with health and safety law" Waiting for the next "Review" may be cost efective Davies36197

I believe the correct leaflet is here: http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/law.pdf It would seem prudent to hold-fire pending a (possible) re-print. Always assuming HSE can find the time; given the resources they are tasked with devoting to ferreting out dusty old orders and revocations for legal disposal.

Q3 from HSE's FAQ on "What do you need to know about the health and safety law poster?" "Q3: What has changed? The 2009 poster and leaflet set out in simple terms, using numbered lists of basic points, what employers and workers must do, as well as showing what to do if there is a problem. Their appearance was completely redesigned to make them more readable and colourful. Please note that from 1 October 2011 HSE removed the telephone number to its Infoline service (Infoline closed on 30 September 2011) and the Incident Contact Centre will only be available for reporting major injuries and fatalities. Reporting of other statutory notifications will continue to be available through online forms. A new poster does not have to be purchased or printed as a result of these changes." Importantly, there is no mention of any intention to produce an updated version.
