My company are going to be working on some properties where the power supply runs on the outside of the properties along the walls ( ex council houisng stock). The work will involve rendering and scaffoling will be used. I fully understand with the scaffolding it will be the reposnsibility of the supply companies to sheath the cables as with overheads. We've been asked to prepare a SSOW for the rendering which will need the cables to be either isolated or removed as we can't render over them and they can't be encapsulated while we render over them. Has anyone come over this problem before? Are we totally in the hands of the supply companies and rely on them to work with us. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

If the cables are the property of the DNO then only them or their authorised contractors can work on them. The electricity supplier to the property, as in the supplier to whom the property resident pays their bill has nothing to do with these cables unless they happen also to be the DNO.
