In order to comply with the guidance in BGO1 - Guidance on Safe Operation of Boilers - i need to review the fire risk assessment which should be specific to the area - emergency procedures etc. Boilers are not my area of expertise and although I have arranged a meeting with one of the operatives to help me out and generate input towards the assessment, any up front advice would be appreciated, such as areas of concern , shut down procedures etc.Templates also appreciated Thanks SBH

Is this your in-house document?

Ron It appears to be a joint doc produced by HSE, Safety Assessment Federation (SAFed) and the Combustion Engineering Association (CEA). http://www.fulton.co.uk/...peration-of-boilers-bg01

Thanks for that B.Bruce, every day is indeed a School day; or as an old mentor of mine was fond of saying: " a moment of shame is preferable to a lifetime of ignorance."

Our engineering manager was recently contacted about this from a company that claimed that all our operators had to attend a new course to coincide with the new guidance. I told him sounds like codswallop! I looked at the updated guidance, checked training records, inspections still carried out, operators log still in place, risk assessment reviewed. Another money making ploy for slight changes to the guidance document?
