Hi All, Can anyone steer me in the right direction as to health surveillance. I work for a construction company and need to set up health surveillance records for the employees. Does anyone have a sample template that I can have a look at so as to give me a general idea of what I should produce? Thanks in advance

Hi Ally. Have you considered approaching one of the construction industry unions. They may be able to offer the advice you are looking for. Hope this helps a bit. Mike

First step is to be clear in your own mind what you want to do, and why. Things to think about include: > Don't overlook the fact that priority number one has to be health risk management, rather than some form of after-the-fact monitoring. > Whoever is doing the "surveillance" must be competent to do so - & it's therefore reasonable to assume that they will work with you / inform you about record keeping. > Your question suggests that you may be using the term "health surveillance" without actually knowing what is meant - both formally and informally - by it. Is it safe to assume you've already looked at the HSE website on this? http://www.hse.gov.uk/co...thrisks/surveillance.htm > You've got nothing to lose by giving CBH a call - they may ask you the questions that you need to go away & find answers to.
