Another Knight of the Realm (2000) I see, and a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (2004). Given his role and position, and the scale of the environmental disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, fairness and logic would suggest he should be treated in the same way as Fred Goodwin?

The thing is will changes on the board influence the behavioral safety on board the actual drilling units they contract? From past experiences (and not just BP) in various situations the 'company rep' have often been seen to falter to make an on the spot decision and first port of call is their superiors that could be continents away! I noticed there appears a big HSE related recruitment drive within BP, interesting as in the early 90's many of the oil companies had huge redundancies and used 'consultants' extensively.
