Hi Guys/Gals
I have been tasked with carrying out an FRA for a temporary office structure, similar to the temporary office they use in schools (just trying to give you an idea of what the FRA is for)
Has anyone got any experience with carrying out an FRA for a structure of this type or can direct me to some useful guidance. It is one big room with a small canteen area i.e. has a microwave and currently has not fire door in place for this part of the offices.
I have also been asked to carry out an FRA for a Workshop area that is located over the road from the temporary offices. The workshop is basically a temporary structure and contains chop saw, drills, routers etc.
I have quite a bit of experience with high rise FRA`s, office FRA`s etc, but not structures of this type which means going back to the books and getting advice from people like you guys.
Thanks in advance for any help

Try not to 'over think' this premises, if you can do FRA's for a high rise, then these offices should be a doddle!
I don't think you need to treat them any differently to what you do currently with your other FRA's.
The main difference is going to be the construction materials used in the temporary structure itself, and what fire hazards they pose or protection they offer.
Good luck!

Hi Lisa & Lawlee
Thanks for your thoughts.
Lisa - I completely understand your rational regarding this but when I am slightly moved from my comfort zone I seem to panic, at first any way and then seem to work things out in the end.
Lawlee - I would really really appreciate feedback from the report you are due to receive. It would give me some starter points on unusual areas of investigation prior to the compiling of the FRA. PM me if that is more convenient.
Thank you both!

Thank you both! My gentleman has just turned up, so before the end of the day I shall get back to you with a few pointers.

I know this is a few days after this topic was posted and not sure you will pick it up, but I have just been reading HSG 168 Fire Safety in Construction and there is an Appendix on temporary accommodation units. There are only a few pages but it may help in some way.
Thought I would pass this on.
Regards Lisa
