Might I enquire as to the policy and processes of other Organisations with a social landlord function or with a care/support function in a domestic setting, with respect to legionella management? I understand the L8 standpoint on high temperature/ high throughput systems in a domestic setting as not requiring particular consideration, but what do landlords do for void properties & re-lets, particularly for higher risk groups - e.g. supported accomodation? Does anyone out there operate a drain-down and/or flushing regime before re-let etc.?

Ron, We do something around this subject, but it's slightly outside of my area. At the very least I do know that for voids we some sort of flushing and change shower heads, but bear with me and I'll get you something a little more detailed.

I am also LA and just about to look at this subject too, including what information we give to tenants. So though I have nothing to add now, I will come back to you once I know some more. Regards Lisa

Ron, Apologies for not responding sooner - Voids manager has been on leave. It appears that we too are pretty vague on the documented application of legionellea control within voids properties, but shower heads and hoses are routinely replaced at the void stage and they're now just thinking about undertaking water temperature tests and removing "dead legs" in any systems. If you get anything more I'd appreciate a PM; I can possibly put you in direct contact with our voids manager, but not on the open forum. Regards
