Our accident book refers to RIDDOR and an absence of more than 3 days. Do I need to find a new version that refers 5 days instead?

Still have to record Over 3 Day absences although reporting now only required for Over 7 Day absences.
It's all on the HSE website....
Can't see there is any need to change the accident book....

This having to record over 3 day absences internally? I don't see how this makes any real difference to internal accident reporting procedures. We log all accidents, investigate, file and retain the reports and all lost time is recorded whether it be 1,2, 5 days or whatever and used for statistical purposes amongst other things. So the only real change I see is the change under RIDDOR from 3 to 7 days.

The change from 2 to 7 hasn't actually come into force yet and that's pending parliamentary approval.
And yes to back up what Dave has said you record every accident in the accident book as normal, the only that has changed is going from a reportable being 3 days to 7 days.

Thanks for responses (that's pretty much what I thought) - apologies for the mistype by the way - should have been 7 not 5 days. I blame fat fingers :)
