I require some infomation reguarding use of Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Trucks within racking against the use of FLT's. In my opinion the use of a VNA in picking and placing of pallets to the end of the racks rather is safer than a FLT driver collecting these pallets from in between the racks that the VNA have already picked out of the racks. I've scanned the HSE website, United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) and Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) for further infomation to support my concern's.
Can anyone send me a link, tell me where I can get some infomation on this or even give me your thoughts???

Fisher,
Take up DP's offer. We operate VNA's and our evaluation is that it is safer in "our enviroment" to place the pallets at the end of the racks, however there has been occasions where pallets have been placed in the aisles, when the FLT went to retrieve them we closed the adjoining aisles to prevent the potential of pallet being accidenly pushed through by VNA. we have a strict policy that anyone working in a aisles or walking through must chack that nothing is operating in adjoining aisles with a chain off procedure.
