If anything it takes more time now as our Admin Support has had to create another record stream, one for the over 3 days which we still have record plus another for the over 7 days which we have to report.

Over 200 sites and counting. external internet no longer provided and slowly being removed. Sites used to report themselves but now all reports have to be made through the H&S Team (all three of us).

Exactly what I have been banging on about for a while now!
Less work for HSE / ICC
More work for businesses (on the assumption that a 3-7 day accident would be investigated just as a O7D would)

I feel your pain.
We have about 600 sites, without external internet access (albeit low risk retail), so they now phone us..

What I cant understand is if the over 3 day are not going to be in the HSE stats why do we have to keep them?

It's a European requirement and the Government is obliged to submit greater than 3 day injuries. It's likely this will be estimated rather than actually requested.

It took years for all the then members of the EU to agree to standard definitions of accidents with the UK one of the proponents of the over 3 day injury accident.
It's about enabling benchmarking.
HSE consultation doc commented on the potential for employers to be rung up to answer questions about their O3D accidents, or even for Inspectors (what Inspectors) to visit to look through the accident book to identify causes. Eurostat requirements aren't just numbers but break down of these by cause.
