Scotty79, you going to have to give people a lot more detail before you get a decent response. What course are you doing? When (how long do you have to prepare?) is it? What is your current level of practice, your experience?. Best of luck

Hi Gary , I'm currently working in the construction industry as a Roof Sheeter/Cladder and have been for about 13 year now , but decided to start learning for a career in health & safety . The course I was going to start was IOSH managing safely course which I would be starting within the next few month , then hopefully progressing onto the NEBOSH , so was wanting any info I could get hands on , to get studying before it starts. Thanks

Scotty Why don't you start with NEBOSH general in construction As a roofer/cladder you will have a lot of experience working with MEWP's, working at Height and general site knowledge I think you would be better going straight for the NEBOSH cert Alan

I would agree with Alan. If you are funding this- its cheaper for you. If your employer is funding it- you have saved them money and earned yourself brownie points! Andy

Yeah will look into that , thanks lads . I've been looking into buying Health & Safety Risk Management off the IOSH website . It does mention its for NEBOSH but also states Diploma as well . If this is too advanced could u recommend any other books to get me started

Scotty I'd opt for either "Principles of Health and Safety at Work" (probably available from your nearest central library) or "Principles of Construction Safety" (less copies sold) authored by the late Alan St John Holt if you're going straight to NEBOSH Cert. I agree with what others have said - and don't think you would really benefit from doing IOSH MS first. Too much overlap + IOSH speak and NEBOSH speak not always consistent.
