If you're an importer, rebrander or manufacturer of new electrical or electronic equipment then it's likely you'll need to comply with the UK's WEEE Regulations.
However if you are none of the above id their anything in the regs that applies to you or can you simply dispose of such equipment in your scrap metal skip?
I don't have a copy of the Regs at hand to go over in detail

Waste electrical equipment is listed on the European Waste Catalogue- it should not be put in the scrap metal skip.
The EA would not be best pleased.

U own your own waste irrespective of anything else so as its your waste you must dispose of it as per the requirements of the law e.g. the 'producer pays' principal is in place here and in this case its not the original producer we are talking about it is U who are disposing of a product that was/is yours so U are the person producing the waste

Its SEPA rather than the EA we would answer to and we are onboard an oil and gas installation offshore.
As things stand we are in full compliance. I just wanted to clarify the point for discussing at a group safety briefing.
Many thanks for your help and advise.

I am currently having the same problem in obtaining info on this to give to management, we do not produce much WEEE waste per year, as the majority of the laptops/ PC's are wiped and given to children of families within the company. But the Regs do not state anything about user/ disposer, I know it has to be put into a seperate bin for collection by a specific WEEE recycling company within your location, but that is not on a piece of paper that I can give to management.
