Just landed a job in Aberdeen doing oil and gas safety, trebled my wage and boosted career progression prospects however, just handed in my notice to my cushy operational safety job... job for life possibly.... no hassle... plenty of projects.... and in sets the fear.. Jeeze what a life.

Plenty of work in oil and gas rocky. Like you said good wages and career prospects. I've never been out of work. Fortune favours the brave. Good luck to you

Have PM'd you - congrats Rocky! Welcome to the Granite City, where the streets are lined with Black Gold! We should have an unofficial IOSH meet to celebrate :-)

Congratulations Rocky - is that a change in speciality then? If so what experience did you have that 'sold you' to your new employers? Just interested as I am unhappy where I am. Stuart

Hi Rocky, I am interested too with the same query from Stuie. I have related experience in engineering and facilities and the response I get that recruiters want people with Oil and Gas experience? Congratulations to you.

Good for you, I'm sure you will be fine when you get into the thick of it. This also explains the typing out of the words from "The fresh prince" the other day, not too much coffee, just demob happy" Congratulations to you and nice to hear (read) a positive post.

Hi rockybalboa. I'm in the same position as you. Looking forward to the new challenges a bit sad at leaving home but not too sad about the old situation.
