Heres one for the mechanical experts out there;
we currently use "Mr Cropper" attachments on some of our sub contractors excavators to reduce pile caps on site, however their now appears to be some rising resistance from the excavator owner operators to allow such equipment to be attached to the machines for fear of cross contamination and subsequential damage to the hydraulic system (mainly the pump) of the machines. i have contacted the suppliers for some advice on this matter but i was wondering if anyone else has had similar issues and if so how you dealt with them. also would it be possible to fit an in line filter between the attachment and the excavator to prevent such cros contamination from occuring?
many thanks
Allan

i spoke to mr cropper at the end of last week & they have informed me of the following;
the cropper is delivered to site free of hydraulic fluid and in a clean state; once pile cropping has been completed the unit is taken back to their depot & flushed out and made clean once again, this is done before the unit is sent out to the next job.
they also informed me that there is no risk from cross contamination.

We use Mr Cropper, and was unaware of this, perhaps a word with the operators is required to find out more.
