Hi, I will move to US recently but can anyone tell me how to be a safety practitioner in US just like in UK? what's the academic, training and experience required?

It was something I looked at very briefly a while back. Check out this website: http://www.bcsp.org/csp It's worth noting there is some kind of agreement between IOSH and BCSP which means you don't have to jump through all of the hoops if you're already CMIOSH, can't quite remember but it's on the website somewhere.

If you are a CMIOSH you can sit in the CSP examination right away. If not, you'll need to complete the ASP and then the CSP after proving experience, education and references. Let me know if you need more information. I am doing it the other way around from CSP to CMIOSH
