Fellow colleagues, I’m in need of an external competent and resourceful risk management trainer to deliver director level training aimed at the NHS LA risk management standard. The audience are all challenging and exceptionally knowledgeable directors (multiply PHD’s, MSC’s etc). I’m after a half day session only, which needs to be punchy, powerful and engaging and specific to the healthcare sector only, including rule 43’s and the NHS LA’s solicitor reports etc, case law, corporate responsibility etc. I would welcome any suggestions and I can supply my email address if you wish to discuss it off-line. The training is scheduled for July, so time is short. Thank you in advance

Hi risk09 - sounds to me like you need IOSH's "Directing Safely" (other similar courses available). Pop that into your search engine and you should get any number of providers in your area. We have this training delivered to all our Exec and Non Exec Directors to good effect.

Thanks I wanted to run the IOSH Directing Safely/Senior Executives, however it doesn't go into sufficient depth for the NHS LA standards, hence the query. I could add to the course content, however this will be much longer than one day, hence the option for a bespoke half-day risk management session. all suggestions are welcomed, thank you

rick, this kind of stuff should be presented by NHSLA themselves. There are written standards and I seem to recall they came to my Trust to actually do a presentation on what the standards are and how they'll be assessing it. This is a separate matter to risk management which I'm sure the IOSH course could take care of.

Hi Rick I wanted the same for our Senior Team (in a large independent school) and was recommended an 'IOSH groups' lawyer for a half day session. Not sure if he could do the same specifically for NHS but he scared the devil out of my ST as the session was both fascinating and horrifying to them...it worked very well! PM me if you want his details.
