The usually advice: try to think of the panel as being naked. Should the panel actually be naked then try to think of them as fully clothed. Best of luck. It is difficult but well worth it. B

Goodwin Just had mine in Glasgow (may) First mistake a did the presentation then fitted my script around it, as I had already sent the presentation I could not change it If I was to do it again I would write my script and then make the presentation fit I did in 14 mins exactly so 1 min left to spare, they do give you a 2 min warning and will stop you if you hit 15mins They then asked questions which I down loaded from IPD questionnaire – plus examples And finally what the code of conduct meant for me They also asked for examples of applying the code Most people say they enjoy it I found myself nervous did not need to be really They also asked if I had any questions at the end Lats week recieved letter stating I was successfull so worth the effort Good luck be prepared have answers and examples in your head ready and you will be fine Alan

See the posting by Harri - his experience is typical of the process, I'm told.

Threads about this topic have arisen on the forum before, including a useful one last November entitled "Peer Review". To save others from doing a search for it, I sent a response to it after finding it simply to bring it to page 1 from whatever back page it was on. My computer skills are somewhat limited so I don't know if and how to provide a link to it. :-(

Peer to peer interview Hope this helps. You must provide them (IOSH) with the following a month in advance :- A copy of your online CPD record, a current copy of your CV, a copy of your your open assessment report and a copy of your PowerPoint presentation on a disc or flash pen. Proof of indentify i.e. passport, must be presented on the day. The interview format (lasts approximately 1 hour) 5 min PowerPoint presentation. This must be about yourself and your involvement in health and safety. (My biggest tip to you would be to keep emphasising your involvement in H&S. Don’t use the word we or team, they only want to know about you.) Make a point of showing what are your roles’ and responsibilities. They will then ask you about any questions in your open assessment that you didn’t score to highly on, so these must be rehearsed in advance. (IOSH do provide copies of the assessors open assessment reports. And your own personal assessment) Questions on IOSH’s code of conduct, there are 19 in total. It’s very doubtful that they will ask you to quote line and verse, but they will ask your opinion on the code book itself. Then they will ask you questions about H&S in general, but based on your presentation they may ask questions about your role itself. Big tip, don’t take flyers if you don’t know the answer to a question and you try to bluff you way out they will know, the panel are all experienced H&S professionals. They may then ask you if you have any questions, so the format is just like an interview. You won’t get the results of your interview straight away it may take a couple of weeks. A lot of people have asked the same questions about the interview on the IOSH forum tell him it’s worth a look or he can even type in his own question to forum members. Hope this is helpful, if I can pass the peer to peer interview anybody can. Good luck Steve W

Be good with your timing! Read the code of conduct and download the question set they will ask you on and look for examples in your workplace. The emphasis is on what you have achieved. There is likely to be a panel of 3, an invigilator and sometimes they are recorded! If you are not great at presentations, then practice in advance and on answering your questions. Also you are likely to be asked on 'general H&S questions also' - so keep yourself up to speed with legislation changes, best practice for your industry etc etc. Good luck!

I am preparing for my PRI in a few months time and thought I would chip in with my comments. The PowerPoint and Employment Record can be e mailed in so you don't have use memory sticks or CD ROMs now. I am going to change the background on my PP but that is of course optional. The info pack from IOSH is comprehensive but you will need to download: The Peer Review Interview – Interview Report Form so you can see the questions and also how the scoring works.....http://www.iosh.co.uk/myiosh/my_ipd/idoc.ashx?docid=70cd6fcb-9685-4a27-98e5-c4ce36194517&version=-1 Code of Conduct: http://www.iosh.co.uk/id...17713e46f&version=-1 Sample PowerPoint is here: http://www.iosh.co.uk/my...fa3e2bf87&version=-1 Record of Employment Template: http://www.iosh.co.uk/my...91bf9df24&version=-1 Of course the links are current at the time of writing but are all linked out (except Code of Conduct) from this IOSH page: http://www.iosh.co.uk/my...r_review_interviews.aspx not sure if this page is locked until you get passed the IPD.

Hi Had my interview in May and pleased to say I passed!, do your homework swot up on the Qs you are going to be asked during the interview they are all available on the website, and remember when you send in you PP presentation add you notes to each slide before you send it, you can delete the notes off the slides you send in, but keep the copies for yourself, and practice the presentation getting it within the 15 mins. I was real nervous but they allow for that, it easy to say after the event but they are just members who interview you and they just need assurance that you know your stuff and you completed the open book yourself and didnt copy anothers. Good luck
