Hello Angelo, welcome to the forums.
Unfortunately if you do a search on the forums you will see that there is little out there at the moment (especially in Wales where I live) for experienced H&S practitioners - never mind those seeking the first step on the ladder.
Some of those with more construction experience than myself may have different ideas - I don't know. Maybe you could give us a bit more info as to where you have gained your experience and what it consisted of - maybe you will get a bit more positive feedback that way.
Sorry to be a bit negative, but things are not good at the moment.

Hi Angelo

If you are wanting to get information on british safety law, a good place to start is the official website

http://www.hse.gov.uk/index.htm

No problem Angelo; as Jane suggested have a look at the HSE website for the law side of things. As you are from what I would deem to be an enforcement background try looking at the HSE and local authorities websites for jobs - although i must admit i have no idea as to the transferabilty of your qualifications and experience. Even on the enforcement side of things times are tough with the spending cuts that we (whole of Europe?) are having to put in place biting hard at present.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do, and do have a look on the forums there has been much discussion about the current job situation in H&S in the UK.

Yes, i knew this web-site, speak about work..in this moment i am the consultant of safety of a big Music Live Show, Sicily music Village, with an attendance of 20,000....http://www.facebook.com/events/332250030196786/?ref=ts
The big problem is related to the mounting of stage, and in Italy there isn' t a specific law, but i'm organizing a system of coordinament to controll all the operations...in Italy died 2 peole this year cause of the collapse of stage, in Canada during the organitation of Radiohead tour too...
